Cake...

I like cake, in fact I like cake a lot, because I really like tea and tea and cake go together almost as well as cappucino and cake and I also love cappucino. However since I have been going to fat club for the last two months I have to avoid cake as much as possible and cappucinos which I find really hard so I have to drink a lot of herbal tea and I'm pleased to say that cake and peppermint tea are not good companions......
When I do crave cake well it has to be hands down, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and if possible chopped nuts.....

Second on the list has to be to die for, lemon drizzle cake.It must have a really thorough infusion of lemon juice and a crunchy, sugary topping......

Most people I know love chocolate cake.I like the idea of it but never really enjoy it as much as I think I am going to.......I am very fussy....I find too many chocolate cakes can be heavy too dry and they tend to look better than they taste....

A well made coffee cake can also make my heart sing if its light and fluffy......

What's your favourite?

Look at these beauts I found on flickr.....hand painted cakes, total works of art.......

They are just amazing.....

I am seriously considering getting married again if I can have a wedding cake like this one...I would never eat it just look at it forever.....
Imagine a world without cake..........not possible.

Lemon Drizzle for me please! I only offered to help out at my boss's friend's garden opening on Sunday because I heard there would be lots of it on the tea trolleys!I'll let you know how it goes! Those floral cakes certainly are works of art!Hope you're fine and dandy.

Your blog is Yummy! and I don't just mean the cake. I've been going through a few of your posts and decided that you have a very creative and delightful spot and that I am going to want to come back again and again. I'm your newest follower, please come on over for a visit . . . If I could I would have cake and tea waiting on the front porch. Have a great weekend, Connie :)

Hi Anne just caught up on your posts - sorry to hear life has been crap lately. I am treading water until December 2013 and then my contract finishes ans I don't care how little money we have I am not working at NYCC any more. I am guessing you were made redundant- so I am sorry if its not what you wanted. will you be in the shop more. both upstairs and downstairs. I bought some lovely wrapping paper to do all sorts with from downstairs but havent the heart to cut it up, si I just unroll it, love it and then roll it back up!! Hope you find yourself soon and good luck with the weight loss. See you at the next vintage fair!

Carrot cake and lemon drizzle are my favourites too. The painted cakes are beautiful but I do wonder if they taste as good as they look.
