Homestead Open House

Well the elements were well and truly against us.It has snowed a little bit (12" at least) in these parts just lately and travelling has been quite stressful.I have been late for school just about every day.Heidi held her annual Open House on Sunday and Monday but the footfall was not so great due to the bad weather which is a shame as it was so lovely. My photos really don't do it justice at all.I think it was largely due to my camera having a broken screen and me running a temperature which has now developed into a nasty flu like virus which has kept me in bed for the last twenty four hours..the stress that this is causing is another post...Anyway here is a little taste of what was on offer. It was so nice to be able to buy unusual gifts. We are all having a meal and doing a secret Santa which consists of something made, something for a pound and something from a charity shop. This will be a bit of a challenge.Certainly the making bit, charity shop no problem...
Heidi's lovely lavender in beautiful vintage containers....

Linda's lovely pictures
Rosella's crocheted items and fabulous cushions

Just a quick view of the road to Scarborough which hasn't had much snow compared to the foothills of the NY Moors.I will post some really snowy pictures when fully recovered.

Oh, it looks cold... At least down here in the Southwest we haven't had as much snow yet, but it is very cold too.
Lovely pictures from the shop, shame I can't make them larger:)

So sorry you`re feeling poorly. Hope you get better soon - we really do take our good health for granted, until we`re laid up! Wish I could have come to the Open House, everything looks so lovely - such a shame the bad weather kept people away. Better Luck for next time. Keep warm and cosy. x

Get better soon, hon. Glad you've finally given in and listened to your very tired body. Rest up and don't rush back to work! xx

Thank you for your excellent comment on my blog. I intend to take Christmas day at a lovely leisurely pace. We meet friends in the local pub at lunchtime, then back home for a meal, usually cooked by Mr W. He often chooses to make curry which is not popular with my folks!!! Take care in the snow & get well soon! Lizzie x

Hi there I knew you had had it bad in Pickering area and it must have been so disappointing for the open house lady. The display looks wonderful and I wish I could have gone. Just checking my favourite blogs before going off to bed I am doing a Vintage & Retro Fair in Durham tomorrow so up early to get there for 7.30am. Xmas bunting finally finished at 10.05pm!! We have had it bad in Northallerton bit nothing you folks in Ryedale. Hope you feel better soon. My Xmas planning will start after I get the Hexham Fair over on Tuesday and I can relax a bit.
