Rosie's Boudoir.....

As promised in an earlier post, I managed to pop out for some vintage therapy at lunchtime and took some photos of Rosie's boudoir which is so pretty. The sun was shining and the window looks so inviting.

Step inside and there is so much that I would love to buy, many of the clothes though would only fit a stick insect...
Gorgeous silk scarves...
..
I love these nude colours and  faded pinks...very of the moment..
cashmere cardis and sweaters so soft and pretty...
Just had to photograph this shell box.It reminds me of my grandmother Daisy. She had many shell boxes and I have happy memories of spending an afternoon covering a Mateus rose bottle in shells which we collected on a caravan holiday in North Wales...it rained the whole time and my brother John and I played Old Maid and Happy Families with nanny and our great aunt Polly and her spoilt little dog called Squibby...
Nanny made the bottle into a lampshade and sometimes when I went for a sleepover she would light some candles (also in Mateus Rose bottles!!Obviously the drink of the moment) and we would have beans on toast followed by tinned mandarins and carnation milk and call it a dinner party.I was allowed to watch Emmerdalale and Crossroads on the understanding that I would not utter one word until they ended...

Hope you enjoyed the tour.I will try to post about the amazing tea shop which is opposite Rosie's, next week.

Hi,your shell box story is so lovely...made me smile! My Nan had a shell jewelry box and when we'd go and stay I used take all the jewelry out and put it back in neatly,...I loved it so much!
It was left to me after she died, there's a lot of happy memories in that little box
